We can only envision the future technology that our grandkids will be able to use on a daily basis. Future technology will allow the generation of today to live longer due to advances in medicine, use more high tech computers and electronics. Future electronics will go way beyond the iPad using holograms & other virtual reality technology. What once was believed to be science fiction will simply be known as science.
10. The Flying Car
It was between 1996-2002 NASA’s Breakthrough Propulsion Physics Project explored the possibilities of antigravity. Society hasn’t ever really stopped dreaming about flying cars which is deemed not impossible as there are a rare few that have already been made today. Terrafugia’s 2010 prototype probably the most recent. However the concept seems more out of question when you consider highway systems in the skys.
9. Underwater Cities
For the early humans the oceans were a vast mystery. Today, our understanding has expanded but the world’s waters still offer us an abundance of mystery. We dream less about mermaid cities and sunken Atlantis and instead imagine underwater seafloor colonies. In the 1960s Jacques Cousteau’s Conshelf project and the United States Navy’s Sealab saw the dream of living undersea. They tested the ocean floor and proved that humans can live and work for extended periods of time underwater. The test subjects tended underwater gardens, tackled underwater construction projects and lived the life of an aquanaut. Half a century later we have underwater hotels in Dubai. However living underwater isn’t necessary & very expensive. Circumstances haven’t forced humans to consider underwater living seriously but when the ice-caps melt and the lands get flooded under sea then we can only imagine what the future generations will be forced to do.
8. Robot Slaves
It’s fair to say as we have evolved and created new technology our procrastination habits have also evolved. Instead of reading maps, we now follow a tomtom. Instead of posting a letter we now send a text. Instead of cleaning the dishes & vacuuming the floor we might just have automated bots to carry out these tasks for us – a true robotic domestic servant capable of safely navigating a human living environment. It is said Japan are commonly known to be excited by this idea and have already created robotic bots. I-pod to I-bot. Who knows?
7. Trips To The Moon
A British company is offering seats to adventurers willing to go the extra mile on a journey to the moon. The first 500,000-mile round trip in a converted Soviet-era space station could take place as early as 2015. The private British space company will carry out the first manned moon mission since Apollo 17 in 1972. The aim is for 3 people to fly to the moon, orbit the lunar surface, parachuting to the ground and return safely to earth. Seems like another big step for mankind if one day travel agencies maybe catering for out of space ‘resorts’.
6. Food In A Pill
It is said this idea was actually first envisioned in the 1800s to spare animals from slaughter, while others saw it as a way to feed the planet’s growing population without causing too much demand from the planet itself. Today’s society with the increase in working hours and less leisure time we have resorted to packing lunch into small boxes or bars. It could be possibly our future ancestors will evolve to create pills containing all the nutrients required for a meal. Food supplement pills have already been marketed but they specialise in gym related products. The only problem with this idea is that people like to eat because food tastes good – pills generally don’t.
5. The Air Conditioned Suit
When air conditioning was first invented in 1902 it was described as having a drawback. It required people to stay indoors to stay cool. Wouldn’t it be better if you could wear air conditioning on your body, so you could stroll down the street on the hottest day in July without breaking a sweat? Futurists dreamed of just that, and in 1951, scientists touted the idea of an air-conditioned suit cooled through ducts built into an insulated lining, which would be cooled by a small refrigeration unit attached to the body. In 1993, an inventor actually patented a “wearable air conditioner” with water-filled coils built into the fabric that would be cooled by reactions. However it never made it into stores possibly because of how much a water-filled suit might weigh.
Looking back in history humans have turned to just about every viable option on the planet for new means of destroying one another. The use of biological weapons, or bioweapons, dates back to the ancient world. As early as 1,500 B.C. the Hittites of Asia Minor sent plague victims into enemy lands. Some historians even argue that the 10 biblical plagues Moses called down against the Egyptians may have been more of a biological warfare rather than the acts of God. Advances in medical science have led to an understanding of harmful pathogens and the way our immune systems deal with them. But while these advancements have led to vaccinations and cures, they have also led to the further weaponisation of some of the most destructive biological agents on the planet. Today, biological weapons are outlawed under 1972′s Biological Weapons Convention. But while a number of nations have ceased research into their biological weapons the threat remains.
3. Body Heat Powered Electrical Devices
Researchers are coming up with certain ways to rechannel the body’s natural energies to power electrical devices. Scientists at the Energy Dept.’s Berkeley Lab announced breakthroughs in nano-wire based converters that could let someone charge a cell phone with body heat or charge an iPod through walking. This can possibly defeat the role of batteries.
Nanotechnology in medicine is said to bring about advanced and exciting methods to treat certain diseases. It involves employing nanoparticles to deliver drugs, heat, light or other substances to specific types of cells (such as cancer cells). The nanoparticles are engineered in such a way that they are attracted to diseased cells. This technique brings no harm to healthy cells which is the greatest problem when treating cancer to the patients of today. Tests are already in progress and the final approval for the use of nanoparticles is still pending. Researchers are also developing nanoparticles to defeat viruses. It does not necessarily kill the virus molecules but it delivers enzymes that prevent the reproduction of the virus in the patients bloodstream. Another plausible use of nanoparticles is to treat neurological disorders in the brain. Many scientists are certain nanotechnology will prove to be a great step for mankind.
If you could go back or forward in time, when would you go? Time travel would open the door to a million possibilities, yet there’s always the risk of disastrous paradoxes, altering the present for the worse. Imagine if we could develop the means to withstand the force of a wormhole (a shortcut through the universe’s space-time continuum). Today the idea sounds like fiction, similarly to communicating visually with people who can be on the other side of the world 100 years ago (webcam). Maybe we shouldn’t be so pessimistic to how quickly mankind can advance in technology.
Fasting is the act of willingly refraining yourself from food & drink for a period of time. People are known to fast for religious, medical or spiritual reason all over the globe.
The fast is mentioned in the bible in chapter 58:6–7. In this chapter, ‘the nation of Israel is rebuked for their fasting, and given this exhortation’.
“Is not this the fast that I choose to loose the bonds of wickedness…Is it not to share your bread with the hungry
and bring the homeless poor into your house”
With Christianity’s point of view it is very clear that the fast is not merely the abstinence from food or water, but a decision to fully obey God’s commands to care for the poor and oppressed. The Day of Atonement is described as the day the Bible sets aside one whole day in a year for fasting.
“Everyone must go without eating from the evening of the ninth to the evening of the tenth on the seventh month which is the Day of Atonement.”
Mormonism are also known to fast on the first Sunday of each month. Surprisingly enough fasting is a very integral part of the Hindu religion based on personal beliefs and local differences across India. Orthodox jews are known to fast 6 days in a year as well as during ‘Yom Kippur’ which is considered to be the most important day of the Jewish year. It shows society is almost naive to believe fasting is only practised by muslims. Though in Islam, fasting for a month is an obligatory during the holy month of Ramadhan from Fajr (dawn) til Maghrib (dusk). Muslims not only abandon food & drink but are also encourage to abandon negative emotions & body pleasures in order to draw closer to Allah (god). Therefore, fasting strengthens control to develop good behaviour. By reducing food intake they are also encouraged to maintain a healthy diet. On a moral level they try to improve certain characteristics such as generosity & showing mercy to others. In essence, Muslims are trying to improve what they believe to be good moral character.
In Medicine, patients are told to fast prior a surgery which requires general anesthetics. This prevents vomiting & more importantly preventing a life threatening situation where the patient inhales the vomit. Since the 1900s doctors are known to prescribe a fast to eliminate hypertension & doctors still continue to use this method. A study on mice ‘show that fasting every other day while eating double the normal amount of food on non-fasting days can lead to improved insulin and sugar control, resistance to injury, and general health indicators. Punctuated fasting diets produced superior improvements compared with mice on 40% calorie restricted diets.Calories restriction may prolong lifespan and attenuate diseases associated with inflammation, oxidative stress and aging.’
The benefits of fasting is indicated by a look at the body’s progression when deprived of food. Due to the lack of incoming energy, the body must turn to its own resources. This process is called autolysis. Autolysis is the breaking down of fat stores in the body in order to produce energy. Fasting also allows the body detoxicate. This process is called Detoxification. As food is no longer entering the body it allows energy (from fat stores) to be focused on removing toxins through the colon, liver, kidneys, lungs, lymph glands, and skin. Another benefit of fasting is the healing process that begins in the body during a fast. During a fast energy is diverted away from the digestive system due to its lack of use and towards the immune system. Growth hormones are also released during a fast, due to a greater efficiency in hormone production. Scientist Will Carroll wrote
“The healing process during a fast is precipitated by the body’s search for energy sources. Abnormal growths within the body, tumors and the like, do not have the full support of the body’s supplies and therefore are more susceptible to autolysis. Furthermore, production of protein for replacement of damaged cells occurs more efficiently because fewer mistakes are made by the DNA/RNA genetic controls which govern this process. A higher efficiency in protein synthesis results in healthier cells, tissues and organs. This is one reason that animals stop eating when they are wounded, and why humans lose hunger during influenza. Hunger has been proven absent in illnesses such as tonsillitis and colds”
A study was on earthworms that showed the extension of life due to fasting. By isolating one worm and putting it on a cycle of fasting and feeding. The isolated worm outlasted its relatives by 19 generations, while still maintaining its youthful physiological traits.
The main hazard of fasting is that it may cause dehydration & absent of food is a danger in itself. This is why many doctors warn against fasting for extended periods of time without supervision. But has short periods of time it is proven to be very beneficial to your health by reducing excess fat, improving the immune system & reducing the unwanted toxins built up & accumulated in the body over time. Mainly religions believe God prescribed us to fast for many reasons which includes these health benefits.
Mankind can heal broken bones & wounds. We can treat new diseases as they arise. Man has set foot on the moon, we’ve created rockets that shoot to outer space discovering and analysing other planets & galaxys. All this technology mankind has developed and evolved, yet scientists still cannot explain how the Egyptian Pyramids were formed.
Society has been told the pyramids was first built by King Djoser at around 1700 bc. It has been suggested by scientists that between 20,000 and 30,000 laborers were required to build the Pyramid at Giza in less than 23 years. By comparison, Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris took 200 years to complete. The certified knowledge of today is that the Pyramids was built by enslaved men. Using common sense and innovative I believe it is extremely unlikely men were even possible to build such a vast monument. At the time, technology was not known. How could have men physically move blocks that are around the size of an average house? And then stack them above each other? Furthermore each block is cut to precision. It is only recently technology has developed to the point where we can cut almost anything with precision, so how did the Egyptians manage to cut and mould rocks?
I want to tell you about a secret, which did not attract the attention. In the book “The Orion Mystery”, R.Bauval and A.Gilbert proved the pyramids correspond to the disposition and the size of the three stars of Orion’s Belt. This has been confirmed also by the ancient recordings, mysteriously informing that Egypt is constructed under the plan – “as above, so below”. Any observer of the sky will understand the coordinates and measurement of positions of stars is very difficult to assess, even with the technology of today. If we want to understand the ancient building, it is necessary to explain a strict orientation of these buildings on various astronomical phenomena.
For now we can conclude with certainty that it was impossible for man to able to build the Pyramids without the required complex technology & machines, hence they were in fact not created by enslaved men.
For centuries, people have theorised how the great Pyramids were built. Some have suggested that they must have been constructed by extraterrestrials (aliens), while others believe the Egyptians had some sort of technology that has been lost through the ages. People’s interpretations differ depending on their culture and religions. For example some muslims have said the pyramids were created by ‘Jinns’ of who were ordered by the Pharaoh. This suggestion is not due to Islam itself but has been aspired from the Islamic story of Prophet Soloman (as) and how the mosque Al-Aqsa was built by the ‘Jinn’. Jinns are said to be beings who live parallel lives to humans unlike western tradition of ghosts being lost souls of the dead.
Recently another ideology named ‘Scientology’. This ideology has proven to be controversial because they strongly believe the pyramids were the aliens work and it has even be said the Pharaohs were hybrids due to their very unusual bodily shape and extended cranium. During the times of the pyramids, if you study historic cultures across the world they all imitate an extended cranium and even today in many tribes this physical imitation still occurs. People within these cultures announce they imitate the gods whilst scientology suggests these ‘gods’ were in fact extraterrestrial aliens and it is at this historic period they visited earth.
Another suggestion from Scientology is that aliens in fact enslaved men of whom saw them as gods. This idea has been come across by examining ancient scripts showing worshiping several inhumane like figures & also by ancient myths that is only common within certain tribal societies.
The truth is we can never be sure how the pyramids were formed and it’ll remain an ambiguous mystery. Many theories have deemed to be too far-fetched hence why the majority of society accepts they were built my slaves despite it being physically almost impossible without technology (as explained earlier). The Egyptian Pyramids aren’t the only ancient monuments unexplained, you have the secret mystery of Gobekli Tepe & Giza’s Cave Underworld including 12,000 year old towers in Turkey, signs of ancient societies under the lakes of Andes, The Lost Temples of Mayan Pyramids Chichen Itza & ancient city of Babylon. I suggest you google these ancient monuments as they’re sparsely kept secret. Ancient Indian texts describe sunken cities where aliens & humans intermingled thousands of years ago. Who could have built the 600-foot stepped stone structure off the coast of Japan (a site that predates the Egyptian Pyramids by thousands of years)? Remember, history cannot be certain facts, it is all based on evidence depending on how well it’ll make sense and believable. I guess in this case it is up to you to decide upon the truth.
What Is Shisha?
Single or multi-stemmed instrument for smoking flavored tobacco (e.g apple, mint, cherry, chocolate, coconut, licorice, cappuccino, and watermelon), where smoke is passed through a water basin (for purification), before inhaled upto the throat. In the Arab world, it is smoked as a part of their culture and traditions. Social smoking is done with a single or double hose hookah, and sometimes even triple or quadruple hose hookahs in the forms of parties or small get-togethers. A hookah is the name given for the pipe. Hookahs originated in ancient Persia, according to Cyril Elgood (pp. 41, 110), it was Abul-Fatḥ Gilani (d. 1588), a Persian physician at the court of the Mughal emperor Akbar I, who “first passed the smoke of tobacco through a small bowl of water to purify and cool the smoke and thus invented the hubble-bubble or hookah”. Shisha is now gaining popularity around the globe, including Britain, France, Russia, the Middle East, Southern Asia & the United States.
There is a lot of talk concerning the health issues with shisha in comparison with smoking a cigarette. However at the same time there are many misconceptions. Personally i have come across many rumours such as “one puff on shisha is the equivalent of 30 cigarettes”. This is not true, logically. On simple terms shisha and cigarettes smoke both create a risk to your health, but as a comparison there is a difference.
- A standard shisha has 10 times less nicotine than cigarettes. Nicotine is a drug which stimulates the body & also can create an addiction. Cigarettes on average have 0.5 % nicotine, whilst shisha has 0.05%. An hour session is roughly equivalent to 2.5 cigarettes in terms of nicotine.
- Unlike cigarettes, shisha prevents you from inhaling tar (due to the foil). Tar is a chemical which breaks down the walls of the lungs forming scar tissue & decreasing the surface area for gas exchange. Thus making it more difficult to breath. This is a disease called Emphysema.
- Depending on the coal, shisha has around 4 chemicals. Cigarettes however have over 400.
- As shisha is less addictive, it is encouraged to smoke it moderately & not part as a routine. With cigarettes you are very prone to become addicted & possibly be smoking 6 or upto 40 a day (on average).
- Smoking shisha does not produce an horrid & distinct bad breath unlike smoking cigarettes.
- Cigarette smoking is considered to be more carincogenic. (more likely to form cancers such as lung cancer)
- Smoking shisha is supposed to be inhaled upto the throat only and not down the lungs. This reduces the risk heart disease & lung cancer other diseases.
- Because in general smoking shisha lasts longer than smoking a cigarette, your body is exposed to more carbon monoxide which increases blood pressure which relates to heart disease. Also it is known to damage the wall of blood vessels.
- For the same reason that shisha lasts longer, your throat is exposed to compounds more frequently there it is more likely it will trigger an immune response & cause inflammation.
- Poses dangers associated with secondhand smoke.
- Pipes used in shisha cafes may not be cleaned properly, increasing the risk in the spread of infectious diseases.
- B.B.Q coals produce an excess amount of carbon monoxide which results in headaches as the brain lacks in oxygen.
- An hour session is equivalent to inhaling around 200 times the volume inhaled with just one cigarette of smoke.
The reality is smoking shisha or cigarette both poses serious risk to your health therefore i would not recommend neither. Cigarettes are extremely addictive compared to shisha therefore you are more likely to suffer harmful effects from cigarettes. Smoking shisha moderately you are more likely to avoid the negative effects.
This has formed major implications for how we can treat heart disease which is the main cause of death in the western world due to bad dieting, smoking & a lack of exercise. This method is achieve by injecting a lipid-incased substance into a patient. Once inside the body, the substance stimulates cell growth of new blood vessels from pre-existing ones, including those lost from a heart disease. It has been tested successfully on rats and the studies were published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
The method was developed Aaron Baker who is an assistant professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering. He said
”Our method basically delivers extra components that can restore growth factor responsiveness to the tissue of patients with long-standing clinical disease.”
The following video shows the blood vessels growing (speeded up).
The new treatment can be proven crucial to save lives. Chronic myocardial ischemia disease affects up to 27 million patients in the United States alone. The disease reduces blood flow in the heart and lower limbs, ultimately causing organ dysfunction and failure. However the new treatment is said to most probably be able to cure this disease though producing this treatment and then stocking it in the market may cost a lot. Therefore countries in the third world or in poverty will most likely have less access to this cure – another example of the harsh reality between the gap of the rich and the poor which only seems to be becoming wider. Doctors have treated ischemia by physically opening the closed artery with a stent or surgically rerouting blood flow to the damaged tissue. However this method has limitations as well as not being effective in the long-term.
In recent times, the challenge for scientists as well as chemical engineers has been to bind specific substances with cell receptors – the molecules found on the surface of the cell that receive chemical signals and control activities in the cell from outside sources. Baker’s method creates the growth factors in synthetic lipid-based nanoparticles. The nanoparticles contain receptors that, when delivered with the growth factor, improve cell binding so that the growth factor can direct the targeted cell to divide and form new cells. This results in blood vessel growth.
As years go by science seems to surprise with what seemed a miracle 10 years. Makes me wonder what science has for us in the years to come. Only time will tell.
In the modern-day it is quite common for people to who have been unlucky in love will be said to suffer from a “broken heart.” It turns out that a broken heart is an actual & real medical condition. Broken heart syndrome occurs during highly stressful or emotional times, such as a painful breakup, the death of a spouse, or the loss of a job.
The medical name for Broken Heart Syndrome is stress Cardiomyopathy. In extreme cases symptoms are similar to those of a heart attack, including chest pain and difficulty breathing. Only in extreme cases it’s difficult to distinguish between broken heart syndrome and a heart attack, so if you experience symptoms, don’t assume you’re having broken heart syndrome – call 999. However symptoms for Broken Heart Syndrome are reversible unlike a heart attack. Over time, the symptoms go away. And unlike heart attack patients, people with broken heart syndrome do not suffer lasting damage to their hearts.
The Causes of The Heartbroken Syndrome?
In the Hopkins study, to be published in The New England Journal of Medicine online Feb. 10, the research team found that some people may respond to sudden, emotional stress by releasing large amounts of catecholamines (adrenalin and noradrenaline) into the blood stream. These chemicals are temporarily toxic to the heart, stunning the muscle and producing symptoms similar to a typical heart attack. Cardiologist Dr. Binh An P. Phan has said
“Most people will get better in a few weeks without medical treatment. During an extremely stressful event, the heart can be overwhelmed with a surge of adrenalin and other stress hormones. This can cause a narrowing of the arteries that supply blood to the heart. It’s similar to what happens during a heart attack, when a blood clot in a coronary artery restricts blood supply to heart muscle”
While the folklore of “broken heart” syndrome has been around for decades. Many believed a broken heart has been a psychological condition however recent research has proven it is in fact a physical condition due to biological chemicals. Doctors expect the frequency of heart-broken syndrome to increase as more physicians learn to recognize the syndrome’s unique clinical features.
The researchers also plan to study whether certain patients have a specific genetic vulnerability for developing stress cardiomyopathy (broken heart syndrome). It is suggested the best way to reverse the effects of cardiomyopathy is by exercise and keeping the body fit as well as a healthy diet as it will release hormones in the brain that in a sense “up-lift” your emotions. These hormones can also be triggered to be released, in more concentrated and effective forms, by the affection of a partner. As Valentines day approaches, it is your perfect chance to reverse the effects of Cardiomyopathy and to fix a broken heart.
Researchers have created a device which can interpretate brain signals and reconstruct the sound of the words in a Patients thoughts. Another way of putting it, a device which can read aloud your inner voice.
The technique reported in PLoS Biology relies on gathering electrical signals directly from patients’ brains. Several approaches in recent time have suggested that scientists are closing in on methods to tap into our thoughts; the current study achieved its result by implanting electrodes directly into the brain.
Brian Pasley of the University of California, Berkeley and a team of colleagues focused on an area of the brain called the superior temporal gyrus, or STG. This region of the brain is not just part of the hearing ability but one of the “higher-order” brain regions that help us make linguistic sense of the sounds we hear. The team monitored the STG brain waves of 15 patients, while playing audio of a number of different speakers reciting words and sentences. The team created a computer model that helped map out which parts of the brain were firing at what rate, when different frequencies of sound were played.
With the help of that model, when patients were presented with words to think about, the team was able to guess which word the participants had chosen. They were even able to reconstruct these words, turning the brain waves they saw back into sound on the basis of what the computer model suggested those waves meant. It proved to be very accurate. So scientists literally picked up fragments of people’s thoughts (click the like below to hear the device at work)
Critics say this study can determine both positive and negative uses. Such devices could transform the lives of thousands of people who lose the ability to speak as a result of a stroke or other medical conditions. Robert Knight, a senior member of the team and director of the Helen Wills Neuroscience Institute at the University of California, said
“Potentially, the technique could be used to develop an implantable prosthetic device to aid speaking, and for some patients that would be wonderful. The next step is to test whether we can decode a word when a person imagines it. That might sound spooky, but this could really help patients. Perhaps in 10 years it will be as common as grandmother getting a new hip.”
Others say when this device is further developed and more practical for use, if in the wrong hands it could be used to someones advantage and also there is an ethnic case of someone’s privacy being provoked. Conspiracists suggested major agencys have already developed this device and technique long before today and is in use. Mind reading was once an ideology, today it has become reality. Who knows what the future holds in terms of mind reading. It may even become routine, verbal speech can possibly become inexistant and communication evolve into a silent psychic form.
Up until around the late 1800s religion was the main motivation within people’s lifestyle. As of today generally speaking science has seemed to dis-regard people’s views on religion. However can we analyse science and religion for them to counter-part as one?
The well-known scientist Charles Darwin laid the foundations of the theory of evolution. By studying animals and fossils he concluded over long periods of time microorganism would differentiate into more complex cells which eventually breed into different species. It is due to environmental and other factors that has caused the great number of different species in the animal kingdom we know of today from the process of natural selection. Evolution is genetic change in a population from one generation to another. Charles Darwin also concluded monkeys and humans share the same ancestor based on numerous evidence. For example fossils act as a record of change from earlier species which shows a gradual complexity of species as the years pass. Furthermore there are various anatomical similarities between different species. Many groups of species share the same types of body structures because they inherited them from a common ancestor that had them. This is the case with the vertebrates which are the animals that have internal skeletons. The arms of humans, the forelegs of dogs and cats, the wings of birds, and the flippers of whales and seals all have the same types of bones (humerus, radius, and ulna) because they have are the traits of their shared common ancient vertebrate ancestor.
Charles Darwin theories are also supported by the Miller & Urey’s Primeval Soup Theory which tell us microbes formed from a reaction which took place between nucleic acids in water and overtime evolved into the life-forms we know of today. The bible quotes
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”
Science gives evidence of the earth and universe forming 13.7 billion years ago. The Big Bang Theory states the universe was extremely small, and hot made up of pure light energy smaller than the size of an atom. Then due to gravitational energy a “big bang” occurred to form the universe of today and based on Hubble’s Theory the universe is now expanding which is supported by the Doppler effect. Therefore surely it is evident that science questions the existence of god. However can this scientific evidence possibly support the evidence of God and religion?
The Quran (book of Islam) states
”The universe and the earth were joined together (as one unit of mass), before we clove them asunder
“…The universe is now expanding”
This describes of what has been proven by the science of today, as mentioned before, Hubble’s Theory of the universe expanding and also The Big Bang Theory. Furthermore the Quran also says
“Life started in the water and living things are mostly water”
This is also supported by the science based on The Primeval Soup Theory of the first microbes of life formed in a boiling ocean during the very years of Earths lifespan. Today when scientists look for traces of life on Mars or Jupiter moons, they look for water. Humans and other forms of life are made up of a high proportion of water (our brain alone is 80% water).
Science is deemed to disprove the existence of god but if you study the Qur’an and the other books of religion they seem to only correspond to science despite being written around 1500-2000 years ago when the knowledge of man was very obscure. Astronomical scientist Amir Ansari has said
” Many people are deceived by science sometimes it takes logical thinking to approve the existence of god. The sun is 64 million times greater than the moon yet our planet is placed in the exact point where from our view the moon & sun look the same size resulting in a occurence of full eclipses, is this by chance or is it due to gods intention?”
“It would be logical to believe science explains the method in which god created the universe and us, not disproving his existence. The big bang theory explains how the universe formed but it doesn’t explain where the dense particles came from to trigger the big bang”
“The atom is not the smallest unit of matter in the universe.”
“The earth rotates around its axis [27:88], is not flat but is like a ball [39:5]“
Fundamental particles such as the proton was only discovered recently during the year 1918 by Ernest Rutherford. The majority of people use to believe the Earth was flat until explorer Christopher Columbus confirmed the earth in fact a spherical shape during the 1500s. It would have been impossible for man to have such knowledge during the years the Qur’an was relieved so how can it be possible the Qur’an seems to accurately correspond to recent science. Through the process of logical thinking we can suggest it is in fact the word of god, and god does exist.
A laboratory described as the most high-tech in the history of the Olympics has been revealed.
Doping in sport is a process where athletes illegally enhance performance by use of substances or agents. It is known to be an occuring problem even dating back to the Ancient Olympics where athletes would consume lizard meat prepared in a special way for the intention to gain an advantage relative to the competitors. More recently a prime example would be sprinter ‘Ben Johnson’ who broke 100m world records twice in the 1987 World Championships & 1988 Summer Olympics. However both records was lost and his olympic title as he was disqualified for blood doping. It was only yesterday where the Indian Anti-doping agency caught 11 school athletes using banned drugs. The director general Rahul Bhatnagar said on Thursday
“I was shocked at the high percentage of those testing positive”
Therefore we can conclude blood-doping is common at this day and age. Experts say the use of drugs in sport has increased rapidly within the past 60 years. The British Olympic Association frown upon the use of drugs and encourage fair play in sport especially within their own country to set a good example. This is evident as they have gone to drastic measures in order to control their anti-doping scheme by opening up a new facility of laboratories for drug testing during the London Olympics 2012. It is the size of seven tennis courts and also will carry out more tests than any other Olympics in history.
The high-tech anti-doping unit will analyse more than 6,250 samples during the event – which is up to 400 each day. More than 150 scientists will be working 24 hours a day, seven days a week in the intention to catch out any cheats from the spectacle. Professor David Cowan from King’s College London, leading the team of scientists, said
“These laboratories are the most high-tech labs in the history of the Games, analysing more samples than ever before. Our role is to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the lab to deliver robust anti-doping testing for the games.”
It is understood that Human Growth Hormone testing will be particularly sensitive in London. This is because it can only be detected if it has been used a few days prior to the test. However improvements of technology in this facility means it will show up even if the abuse took place weeks before the test. Olympic minister Hugh Robertson announced
“This is about the integrity of the London Games. People want to know that what they are seeing is a true and fair contest. We are doing all we can to ensure that there is no place to hide for drug cheats at London 2012. Our message to any athlete thinking about doping is simple – we’ll catch you”
The doomsday theory is closely connected with the year 2012, especially since the ancient Mayan calendar which covers the time span of more than 5000 years, ends on December 21st 2012. This day is end of the 13th bak’tun, last period of around 400 years in Mayan calendar.
While there is a certain truth that the Mayan civilization knew whole lot of things about astronomy however there is no evidence whatsoever, that the December 21st 2012 means the end of the world, it only means the end of Mayan calendar and nothing else. The popular doomsday theory linked with Mayan calendar is the one about the planet Nibiru that was supposedly discovered by the ancient Sumerians. This theory states the planet Nibiru should collide with Earth in 2012, and even if it doesn’t hit Earth its journey through our Solar system would cause fatal damage to our planet. The NASA scientists have announced that if such a planet would actually be on course to collide with earth they would be able to monitor it for at least couple of decades and today we would be even able to see this planet with the naked eye.
Although it is known some tabloids were even suggesting that NASA hides the truth about asteroids hitting our planet. In fact there are people amongst us that believe NASA knew about the asteroid in 1983. This belief arises from the questioning of why NASA launched the IRAS (Infrared Astronomical Satellite) which can locate a large object in outer space. A large object was detected and named ‘Planet X’. The implications of Nibiru is mentioned in many ancient history times. A french Apothecary, Michael De Nostredame (1503-1566) wrote
“A big object heading to our planet, it will reach by 2012 but it won’t hit us”
Planet X is said to be the first dark star, with 5 minor planets, 6th the size of earth and 7th of what is suggested as Nibiru. Ancients believe the 6th planet is much like planet Earth and is the home for “Annunaki” (Gods/Giants). It is believed Planet Niburu will cut through our solar system and pass between the Sun & Earth (as shown on left picture). Further more it is said this occurs every 3600 years. Conspiracists of today say it is possible this caused the city of Atlantis to sink and Noah’s flood.
We can ask ourselves if NASA have detected Nibiru for what reason would they have to hide it. Conspiracists deem world leaders and governments are in a hurry to find life on another planet because of Nibiru and are not publicising the issue because they are afraid it is not possible the evacuate the whole population.
From the astronomical point of view there seems to be no danger, in terms of possible disaster that would end all life on our planet in 2012. Personally i believe instead of worrying about such scenarios we should rather start to worry about the long-term effects of climate change because this looks to be the main threat that could disrupt our future life on Earth.
